From their YouTube posting:

This music video was shot for Sour’s ‘Hibi no Neiro’ (Tone of everyday) from their first mini album ‘Water Flavor EP’. The cast were selected from the actual Sour fan base, from many countries around the world. Each person and scene was filmed purely via webcam.

Everyone’s doing it. But I still love it.

I’ve heard that EA Sports suffers a bit in the gaming community’s eyes for being a Leviathan. But I bet they won over a few fans with their latest effort for Tiger Woods PGA Tour ‘08.

Seems like a fan had found a glitch in the video game and posted it for the world to see on YouTube – causing almost a million views and a lot of comment bitching about EA in general.

Did EA run and hide? Did they stomp their giant feet and threaten? Nope:

Yay for EA engaging on the playing field and having a good time doing it. Their video got over 3 million hits and now the chatter on the other video’s comments are about EA’s response.

A lot of brands are uncertain how to deal with social media and the free exchange of opinions. In the candy world alone – Snickers closed down snikerz.com, while Skittles turned their home page into an unregulated, real-time Twitter feed of a Skittles search.

Haven’t we figured out that the tighter you try to hold on, the more you’re gonna lose? And come on, Snickers. You’re a candy for cripes sake. Why so serious?

Simple and funny.

Wieden + Kennedy, London launches Platform, an ideas incubator it hopes to staff with creatives beyond advertising.

In September, Wieden + Kennedy, London will launch a new unit called Platform, a think tank and workshop to handle beyond-communications projects for clients. And, even though it doesn’t exist yet–it’s only now collecting Flickr and YouTube-based applications from non-ad technologists, scientists and artists–Platform has two clients already on board.

I like the application process – identifying a problem and documenting your ingenious solution. A hell of a lot more interesting than looking through portfolios.

Because of you, at least once a day I have an “o joy!” moment. Like today’s from Takeuchi Taijin.

He’s crossed a National Geographic tale of Wolf Wants To Eat Pig with a be-Michel-Gondry-at-home idea and has come up with something so charming and ingenious. Sigh. The music is a bit off in its cheap repetitiveness – but I appreciate what it’s trying to do. As for the the rest – perfect. The way the photos and their placement mirror the action inside them – I loves it madly, deeply, and truly.

I kiss you YouTube. I heard the other day you are not turning a profit yet. I’m so glad you’re still around.

…just because I love it.

Holy Balls! I always thought turtles were a dumb pet because they’re basically just rocks with 4 retractable legs. This is Tarantino-esque.

I’m fascinated. I’m horrified. And I really, really don’t like opera at all now.

And yes, you do have to watch the whole thing. Because it doesn’t even begin to reach it’s height of zen bizarro until the 2:14 mark.
